Five Scary Things That Cussing Can Do For You

Ready for Halloween, my friend? It’s that time to get your costumes ready and maybe enjoy a conversation or two with a friend. Now, it’s possible you may tend to speak a few swear words here and there, but you may decide to really crank it up several notches this time since Halloween’s a scary holiday. How will that be perceived to your friend? Rather than having a good conversation, it may turn out to be a cuss battle. It gets even scarier. Then, the conversation goes south, and your friend may leave you since your friend was tired of hearing the trash talk. Not only in this example, here are five scary reasons why cussing is not good for you.

First, cussing makes you seen as not respectful. Cuss words are only there for very specific cases reserved in their own right, not everyday language. It’s quite a shame to be hearing people around town or work using those words and not really understand how disrespectful it can be. People can be turned off if you use cussing as a way of everyday communication. What can be done to fix that? Stop using those terms in everyday talk! It can be as simple as eliminating the cuss word entirely or using a more proper word in its place. That can really help you in being a more respectful person to others.

Second, cussing can make you be seen as not serious. Typically, whenever I hear people who use those terms often, they are usually the people who are not serious about their communication. I do not want to engage myself in a conversation that includes bad language or disrespect. Remember, communication is a VERY important process that cannot be underestimated, even with the simplest conversations. That’s why if you want to be seen as more serious to those in your life, stop using cuss terms and replace them with more appropriate terms that will help you become more serious wherever you go. You may even gain more friends in the process!

Third, cussing can make you lose friends. The act of cussing over and over again gets very annoying with people, and people can go to a point where they cannot stand that low quality talk and go after people who demonstrate and exemplify more respect. In turn, relationships are broken. What can be done to fix this? Even though it’s mentioned already, I’ll mention it again: Stop using the cuss words! In that way, you can hold onto the friends that support you while you support them without the usage of stinky, foul language. You can make better friendships if you use better terms in your everyday talk.

Fourth, cussing makes you be viewed as not smart. Even though you may hold the highest honors from the most prestigious schools around the world and still talk in a very impolite manner, not many people will perceive you in a smart light. Not matter what advanced degrees you hold, that perception is still there. What can be done about it? Replace those cuss words with the proper term in the proper context. It all depends on context, and never allow those cuss words to be an excuse for not knowing better words. There are better words in existence that are better used for the proper context and situations. You may find those terms in a dictionary or research the proper terms to use for specific contexts. Again, there is no excuse to cuss when a giant plethora of good, relatable words exist for you to use at your disposal!

Fifth, cussing does not make you look more professional. No matter how many times I hear people in various positions from low to high, it’s irritating and quite unprofessional to hear people use swear terms that do not match with their current position. Rather than falling into the cussing trap, always be active in learning better, exciting terms. In that way, you may even make people see you as a professional by having the knowledge to convey the true meaning of those better terms when people ask you questions related to that better term. Plus, using better language can make you better reflect the position you work in right now. Even if you want to move up the ladder, having a better vocabulary is a major plus. That’s why using better words can make you a more professional individual.

When it comes to cuss words, those terms are technically supposed to be used for very specific situations, not to be abused in everyday conversations. Even though most people, I expect, will continue to use cuss words for everyday talk, you, my friend, do not have to follow the crowd. You can stop the scary results of using cuss words by simply stopping the vulgar usage of those terms yourself. Then, learn better terms that are of better use and value and start using them in place of the cuss words. In that way, you can be seen as a respectful, serious, friendly, smart, and professional individual that knows the proper usage of words in their respectful place. When you fully understand this, you, my friend, may sense that radiance of Strivulence!
